EASTER is the day Jesus rose triumphant from the dead - the “Part 2” of our weekend services - Jesus' victory over death and sin! We have three services this March 31st morning: 6:30 am, 8:00 am, and 10:30 am. Easter breakfast is served between 7:30am and 10am. GOOD FRIDAY is Part 1 of 2 of Jesus' powerful victory for us on the cross, the day when Jesus died as our great Substitute. On Friday, March 29th, we will have worship services at 1:00 PM and 6:30 PM. Please join us to worship our Savior from sin!

Holy Thursday is the day when our Savior instituted the Lord’s Supper and was betrayed into the hands of his enemies. We celebrate Jesus’ gift of loving service to us at 4:00 PM and 6:30 PM on Thursday, March 28th, with worship and the Sacrament.

PALM SUNDAY worship focuses on our Savior’s triumphant entry into Jerusalem as he prepared to give His life to save us from our sins. We worship and rejoice before our Lord at 8:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, March 24th here at Immanuel. Join us!

Please join us for our special midweek Lenten worship services on Wednesdays at 4:00 PM and 6:30 PM during Lent.

We will focus on the theme: “Baptized into His Death”.  “St. Paul writes, “Don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death?” (Romans 6:3)  There is a connection between our baptism and Christ’s passion.  This makes Lent the perfect season to learn anew all that God’s Word tells us about Baptism.  We will see how we were powerfully connected in our baptism to all Christ’s saving work.  We will study again what our baptism means for our daily lives.  And we will rededicate ourselves to the struggle of living the new life that Baptism gives us.

Children aren't born with an instruction manual attached. So how do I raise my child in the Lord? Everyone is welcome to attend our 5-session Christian Parenting class beginning Monday January 29th, from 6-7:30pm, and continuing every following Monday for five weeks total. Our School and Family Pastor, Paul Bowe, will lead a study and discussion on all the instruction God gives for how to raise the young souls with which He has blessed you. Free childcare is provided.

As the world begins to prepare for the Christmas season, we hope and pray that you will be able to join us as we prepare our hearts for the coming of the Christ Child. The last of our short midweek Advent mediation and song services will be held at 4:00 pm and 6:30 pm on Wednesday, Dec. 20th. You are also invited to a light supper served between services, at 4:45pm in our church Fellowship Hall (lower level).

Also this evening, from 4:30-6:30 pm (between the Advent services), you are invited to attend our school and preschool open house. We plan to serve the desserts for the Advent meal in the school and preschool. That way you will be able to enjoy those treats as you visit. All of the classrooms will be decorated for Christmas. We hope that you will be able to join us to see those as well as some of the other wonderful things that are happening in your school and preschool.

Women of all ages are invited to set aside the hustle and bustle of the holiday season and take a quiet evening to focus our hearts and minds on the true joy of the season...the birth of our Savior! Join us on Saturday, December 10th in Immanuel’s lower level for our Women’s Advent by Candlelight.

The evening begins at 5:30pm to enjoy viewing the tables illuminated with candlelight. An hour to enjoy desserts and social time is followed by a special program and music at 7pm. Our evening focuses on "Waiting for the Lord." We’re going to hear from some women who really knew what it meant to wait. These women lived in a time with no Internet, no cell phones, and no ATMs—even without our modern-day grocery stores. They had no choice but to wait for things that we consider everyday conveniences. There’s something else that’s special about these women… they were also waiting on some very special promises from the Lord himself.

Invite your female family members and friends and join us for an evening of fellowship, music, God’s word and delicious desserts! This event is free, but please sign-up to attend. Surviving the Holidays is a single-session, 2-hour event for people who have lost a loved one to death and would like some help in navigating the holidays without their loved one. We will learn how to deal with our emotions, tips for surviving social events, what to do with holiday traditions, and how to find hope for the future. We will watch a 40-minute video hosted by counselors and mental health experts together with interviews of those who have experienced the loss of a loved one. We will take some time to discuss the video, though sharing is not required. Each attendee will be given a guidebook to take home and implement.

Surviving the Holidays will meet Saturday, December 3rd from 9-11am at Immanuel Lutheran Church. If you need further information or have any questions, please contact Larry Verlinden. You can request his phone number or email address from our church office. Please register by November 23rd in the back of church or with Larry so enough materials may be ordered. There will be a $5 to cover the cost of the guidebook. Please consider joining us!

On Wednesday, November 9th, our school will be hosting a Veterans’ Day remembrance here at Immanuel. The program will be held in the church at 10:00 AM. Our local VFW will be bringing an honor guard, and all of our students will participate in the program. They will be singing, playing colored bells, or playing their band instruments. One of our upper grade students will also read his/her essay on the topic: “My Pledge to Our Veterans.” Everyone is invited to attend. If you know a veteran, please invite him or her to come. We would love to show our appreciation for those who have served our country in our armed forces.
